YESSS!
I made it to 7.3 on the beep test. While some of you might think thats not a lot, to me its so great! My best in my whole highschool years so far. I pushed myself to a maximum, wanting to stop many times but I just told myself to suck it up and continue. I think I figured out a method that might work on me too. If I'm a bit harder on myself to continue....I DO! Makes me feel like I could do so much more next time.

WHAT TIME IS IT? ITS SUMMER TIME!
A little High School Musical there to get me through the day...
Anyway, summer is FINALLY here! whhooooooo

Get Fit has  honestly been a great experience. I have made so many friends and learned so many ways to keep my physical exercise going without completely draining myself out. I'm also so happy I got one of the best teachers ever, Mrs. Phillips, as a teacher. She honestly inspires me and pushes me to do the best I can. She is also one of the nicest people I know. Get Fit has helped me in so many ways that I can see. I'm fitter, can run longer and honestly just feel better about myself. Im so glad I joined and wouldn't change one bit of it.  <3
Miss Representation.
We watched this documentary a while ago and I can honestly say it was probably one of the best documentaries I've seen. It was about women and how they are treated in this world. How we are pushed to look an certain way that we think is ok but in reality is completely fiction. I can't express enough how important I think that documentary is. The reality is that we feel this way but we forget. We forget and don't notice the discrimination against women anymore.  This is why we need feminists.
The world is starting to forget that we, as women are not inferior to males.  We should be treated as equals and not be given biased thoughts based on our looks.  This "tradition" that girls aren't considered as equals is more than ridiculous. But anyway, I wanted to thank Mrs. Phillips for showing us that inspiring documentary and reminding us to be who we want to be and not who the media wants us to be.

Hey guys,
A bit ago, we did something on the first of May; We took a walk around the neighbourhood. It honstly felt so good and it was a lot of fun. While everyone was walking, Lara, Alexandra, Jestinne and I  started running. While LAra and Alexandra went full on, Jestinne and I did intervals. This made me so confident because i'm not usually the one to run without instruction. After, Mr. Neuf told us to pick up the garbage from the park. There wasn't too much because the younger grades had cleaned it up perfectly. It was a beautiful day and it was fun too.

Interm:
This year in Get Fit, I'm proud of myself because I've been pushing myself to excersize at my hardest. I will admit that sometimes I feel lazy and don't necessarily work too hard. I try to participate as much as I can and I feel that  that has pushed me to work harder than usual.

During fitness days, I've improved quite a bit. In the beggining of the year, I was very unfit due to not having gym. Now, I feel like I could run longer and do more pushups :) I feel like part of it is because of rugby. At the same time, they both help me to become the fit persn I've always wanted to be.

Field trips are always fun for me because we get to get out of school and participate in our community. I feel like it gives me a chance to learn new sports/skills and to engage in active participation.

Some important moments for me was one of the pond runs and the extended beep test. In both of these days I worked extremely hard. I pushed myself to exceed my personal expectations. I pushed and pushed until the end of the excersize and felt really accomplished by the end of it.

I feel like I deserve a mark in the 80%'s. I feel like I'm right between an A and a B.
A few days ago, we went to Sullivan Elementary and participated in an active workshop with little kids ages 5 to 6. It was a lot of fun working with the kids. They were really excited and had a lot to offer. They seemed to REALLY like the song Gangnam Style. What made it even better was that the kids seemed to genually have a good time. I forgot how active kids were at that age :(
Last week, our Get Fit class went to the Panorama Dance Studio. There, we learned a combo and we did some aerobic stretching. I really enjoyed the stretches because they made me perspire and feel accomplished. The combo on the otherhand was very easy to learn but I thought it was harder to get going. Overall, it was a good experience that had me working out hard and had my brain multi-tasking.

Ice Skating

Skating is definitely one of the best activities to do in the winter. It was so much fun :) We went on a Monday and lets face it, no one likes Mondays so the fact that we went skating made the usually dreaded day much more exciting.

Woo Kim

Woo Kim was a lot of fun. Kicking and punching the punching bags definitely relieved some anger that I didn't even know I had. It required flexibility which is one of my strengths. I had a bit of trouble with the side kick just because for some reason my body can't handle turning my foot sideways while I'm kicking at the same time. But other than that, it was good :)

My Goals

My goals for this class don't include too many specifics. Honestly, I joined the class for it's name. Get Fit meaning to get fitter than you are. That is exactly my goal for the semester. I want to be able to run more and be able to increase my stamina so once I finish this semester, I'm able to do everything on my own, without someone always pushing me. In addition, I want to be able to do an exercise and be proud of the score i got. I joined this class to get fit. Even through all the sweat and sore muscles, I'm sure I will be able to reach my goal if I try my best.
